Batofar Nightclub

Batofar Nightclub

Review
In its early days, the Guinguette Pirate team had an ambitious project: to create a counterculture sanctuary where music from around the world, literature, informal discussions, and myriad ideas are given free rein. However, the Batofar's unexpected success has turned it into a techno music Mecca. The Saturday night "People Party" (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.) reunites the beautiful people, thanks to the talented Fabrice Lamy, Kwality's art director (no other than the organizer of those sensational evenings at the Mezzanine de l'Alcazar) who has, as always, a great team of DJs. It's a happy mix of styles: chic young girls and stylish young men, all wild about sonic performance. True to its name (a play on the French word for "lighthouse"), this floating club attracts a trendy set from far and wide. Even outside, the spectacle is striking: the crowds on the quay, the rust-red Batofar, the Seine gently flowing past historic buildings, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the François Mitterand library. On Sundays, there's an after-party starting at 6 a.m
